Dear Parents, Carers and Pupils,
Well, it’s been a long 12 weeks since we were last in school and we have been delighted to hear that our whole school community has been safe and well throughout this difficult period. Can I start by saying a huge ‘Thank you’ and ‘Well done’ to all our pupils for their hard work and effort in engaging with the home learning opportunities we have placed on our website over the last three months. We have been delighted to see and hear about all the amazing things you have been doing with your families via emails and our school class Facebook sites. Also, a huge thanks of gratitude from all the staff to our parents and carers for their work in supporting children to complete their home learning activities and ensuring children have stayed safe and well during their time away from school.
We are absolutely delighted that as we head into the second half of the summer term we are able to open our doors again and welcome back children in key year groups. To help support this we have created these pages on our website to let you know how we will be organising our school so that we can welcome everyone back safely.
There are two sections below for you to explore. The first is for parents to provide them with an overview of the systems and procedures we have put in place to ensure everyone’s safety, along with information on key dates for when children will return to school and organisational information for the weeks ahead. The second section is for pupils and is intended to provide an overview of how they will be looked after and cared for when at school, as well as providing information about all the fantastic things we will be learning together when we return to school.
Finally, I’d like to say that all staff in school are really looking forward to seeing everyone in our school community again and want to provide you all with reassurance that we are doing everything we can to ensure the safety of all pupils and staff when we return to school. I said to our children in the last assembly we held on Friday 20th March to “Please remember that things will improve and ‘normal life’ will return.” I am delighted that we are now on the road to ‘normality’ and the opening of our school is a really positive step toward this.
We hope you find the information in these pages useful, and if you have any other questions, please just ask us.
With all best wishes.
Mr. C Baines
