Tag Rugby Festival

Tag Rugby Festival Oct 2009 - click for full size image

Well done to all those children involved in the Tag Rugby Festival which was held at Wolsingham School on Thursday 8th October. Our Year 5/6 team played brilliantly and managed to come second overall. A team from Year 3/4 also competed in a number of friendly matches and did extremely well, especially as many children had not even played before this term.

Our Rugby Club will continue to train with the Bishop Auckland Rugby Club first team coach after school. The club is open to all junior children for the small charge of 50p. From 15th October, training will take place on Thursdays rather than Wednesdays, 3.15 - 4.15pm.

Healthy Me Week

9th July 2009

All our children took part in a creative 'Healthy Me' week last week, which they thoroughly enjoyed. We learned all about the importance of keeping healthy through keeping fit and having a healthy diet. Lots of different sports were tried, including cricket, golf, basketball, dance, tennis and football. Children also designed and made a healthy snack as well as sampling lots of different fruits and vegetables. They listened to a talk about nutrition from our school dinners provider. The local police visited and explained to children how to keep safe and healthy during the summer holidays. We also welcomed a visitor from HSBC who held workshops with children to help them keep their finances healthy! Thanks to all those involved in organising the week.
